Abstract :
Roadside habitats are the micro-level of habitat with are formed by fragmentation of large habitat, some time it is developed my human effort. Most studies have focused on individual and population level effects of road edge. The study focused on species variation, composition, richness and their functional alteration in proximity to roads. Twelve roads are selected and survey is carried out upto ten meters (10) distance at the both side of the roads. Measurement of soil characteristics, infiltration rate, species composition and ecological significance are established depending on which micro-zones are delineated. The study has been based on entirely primary field survey.
