The main occupation in Nagpur District is Agriculture. In Nagpur district farmers cultivates Soyabean, Cotton, Jowar, Paddy, toor & other crops (which includes udid, mug, barbati, ground nut, till etc.) only 20% of total land in Nagpur District is under irrigation & remaining 72% land is non irrigated, therefore farmer prefer crops which needs low water for cultivation. Due to the lack of irrigation facility farmers also prefer crops which are short duration. The major part of cultivated area is non irrigated therefore in that area, farmers get only Kharif crops they avoid Rabbi Crops. During the year 2007-08 in Nagpur District 4767136 hectare land was used for agricultural purpose. | Keywords : | | |
