This research work is based on secondary sources of Data, collected from office of the Bureau of Economics and Statistics (District Statistical Hand book, 2007-2008), Malda district and cohort report (Primary), 2011-2012, (Base year, 2007-2008). The child dropout rate is higher in northern and southern tips (blocks) of this district while it is lower in northern half of this district (except northern tip) and it is medium in southern half of district (except southern tip). The child dropout rate is lower where the female literacy is higher. The impact of availability of school on child drop out is medium while the impact of availability of teachers on child drop out is low.
