Article Name : | | EFFECTS OF ASPIRATION METHODS AND ALTERNATIVE RENEWABLE FUELS IN AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE - AN OVERVIEW | Author Name : | | PALANISWAMY D.1, PRADEEP M.2, RANJITH RAJA S.3, RAMESH G.4 | Publisher : | | Ashok Yakkaldevi | Article Series No. : | | GRT-2078 | Article URL : | | | Author Profile View PDF In browser | Abstract : | | Over the past years, the investigations of IC engines have been expanded in the area of aspiration methods and in the alternative renewable fuels like bio-diesel, hydrogen, etc., due to the increased consumption and large emissions in the use of conventional fuels. The main objective of this paper is to present an overview about the effects of aspiration methods in an IC engine (especially diesel engines) and the alternative fuels which are more economical in cost and lower exhaust emission than that of conventional fuels that we are currently using. The effects of aspiration methods on the performance of an IC engine operating at different transient conditions, with alternative renewable fuels are tabulated in this paper, for better understanding. This paper also presents the general introduction, principle and working of aspiration methods along with the comparison of emission characteristics upon using the bio-fuels in an internal combustion engine. | Keywords : | | |
