The reaction is first order dependence on potassium permanganate concentration and order in L-aspartic acid is fractional which suggests intermediate complex formation between L-aspartic acid and potassium permanganate. The thermodynamic parameters are reported. The rate was found to increase with increasing concentration of perchloric acid. Suitable mechanism is proposed and rate laws derived explain the results obtained. | Keywords : | | |
