The study shows that the Jaipanda river basin is occupied by granites and gneisses of Archaean age. The recent alluvium deposits are present along the steam courses. The study area is traversed by various directional features or lineaments and most of them are NE-SW, ENE-WSW and EW directions. Groundwater potential of geomorphological unites viz.
