Education lessens Socio-economic disparities rampant in the society and acts as a way of improving the status of women within the family if the access to education is not denied to women on the pretext of tradition, religion or any other social norm. This research is designed to explore the relationship between access to education of Muslim women and their socio-economic status in Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh. The study used both qualitative and quantitative methods. With respect to the former, in-depth interviews were used. This Study however shows that Education has had a positive impact on socio economic status of Muslim women in the district. | | Keywords : | | |
