Article Name : | | COFLOCS OF PGPR CELLS: POSITIVE INFLUENCE OF THE NOVEL DELIVERY SYSTEM ON PLANT GROWTH STIMULATION AND INDUCTION OF SYSTEMIC RESISTANCE (ISR) IN RICE-XANTHOMONAS ORYZAE PATHOSYSTEM UNDER LOWLAND CONDITION | Author Name : | | Mahendran R , Sekar C | Publisher : | | Ashok Yakkaldevi | Article Series No. : | | GRT-4360 | Article URL : | | | Author Profile View PDF In browser | Abstract : | | The comparative performance of different bioformulations, viz.,vegetative cells application, co-inoculation and coflocculation application of efficient PGPR cells viz., Pseudomonas fluorescens (PF-5) and Paenibacillus polymyxa (PB-5), together with challenge inoculation of Xanthomonas oryzae on the enhancement of induced systemic resistance (ISR) in Rice- Xanthomonas oryzae pathosystem was studied under pot culture condition. It was observed that the application of Pseudomonas fluorescens and Paenibacillus polymyxa, as coflocs, altered the biochemical and physiological parameters viz., reducing and non-reducing sugars, total phenol content and defense enzymes activities viz., peroxidase (PO), polyphenol oxidase (PPO), of rice plant to a higher level followed by co-inoculation and vegetative cell application. | Keywords : | | |
