The first category comprises those who have become nuns while young and unmarried and, thus, sexually inexperienced. They are trained to become professional nuns by vocation. The other comprises those who were previously married or widowed, or who have left their homes to become nuns through changes of lifestyle. The former are referred to as ngebyu, meaning “ones who are young and pure,” and the latter are known as tawdwet, ones who have left for the forest. | Keywords : | | |
