Most exciting have been the new geological surveys that show that as much as a fifth of the world’s exploitable gas and oil reserves lie under the Arctic ice (McCarthy 2008). Potential oil and gas refining will therefore increase fossil fuel reserves, thus risking an exponential increase in the greenhouse effect, which could result in all kinds of catastrophes for the Earth and its inhabitants. | | Keywords : | | |
