However, in spite of the significant progress made during the past few years, India’s higher education sector is still plagued with several challenges.No doubt, the Gross Enrolment Ratio has increased in the last two decades which has also enhanced the quality and transparency in the higher education. Maharashtra state is considered to educationally, culturally and industrially advanced state but it too shows the traits of educational backwardness in certain districts.
