Things, however, changed in the post liberalization period. Since post liberalization period, India has observed a major retail boom due to changes in the income levels, lifestyles, taste & habits of consumers. The increased demand for superior quality and branded products has given a boost to Indian retail sector in recent years. Until 2011, India denied Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in multi-brand retail. Even single-brand retail was limited to 51% ownership and a bureaucratic process. | Keywords : | | |
