About half of the labour force constitutes women in the Tea Estates of Sonitpur. It is revealed by their recruitment in large numbers in Tea Estates which signifies that their work is considered as ‘productive labour’. The most important occupation of Tea Garden women labour is production of tea through intensive labour which shows their gendered attributes to the different tasks performed in the Tea Estates of Sonitpur. | Keywords : | | |
